Receipt Insanity

Number of items purchased: 2. Number of inches of sales receipt: 21. Almost two feet of paper. This receipt from Lowe’s had to be folded 8 times to fit in my wallet. These days a receipt is much more than a simple record of purchase–it’s a marketing tool. Below the purchase total is:

  • Store code information
  • Guaranteed low price messaging
  • Contest to win a $2,500 gift card
  • Personal shopper ID number
