Austin Lycans Footy
I don’t keep up much with the skate scene these days but it’s fun to see some new rippers. Take Austin Lycans. Stumbled on to his skate footage at a site called Virb. Love the backside tail at the end of the clip.
BTW, If you think Virb is a funny name, check out this list of web 2.0’s worst web app names.

Wow. that guy is very nail-gun smooth. He had a very Tom Penny like style. That’s the first current skate footage i’ve seen in years. Yet, i was suprised to see that nothing much had changed in the way of tricks. Most of the his lines, runs, and big tricks were right of the videos we were watching 10 years ago in Lex. Would you agree? The switch 360 ollie was nice. but the nollie heelflips, etc.. all seemed familiar. still fun to watch

Totally agree. I thought the exact same thing (on both points). It seems like you will see the same tricks, only on bigger gaps, rails, etc. But I can’t think of any actual new tricks… I’ll see if my man Dirk has any insights.
BTW, did you notice that he even does the oversized hip-hop t-shirt thing Tom Penny?

I totally notice the longer hip-hop t-shirt deal. (not to mention the small chain) That was straight out of Tom Penny’s playbook. Penny still wears those to this day. I didnt want to seem too superficial for noticing it, so i didnt mention it in my comments. I think you’re right. The bag of tricks are the same but the spots and gaps have increased in size.
