How I’m Livin’

Blowing dust off the site… Here’s what I’ve been up to:

  • This summer = Project Destroy Backyard
  • Gathering signatures. While others work to solve the world’s problems or volunteer in their community, I’ve been passing around a petition to remove the “No Parking” signs that now line my street. People power!
  • Finally upgrading Wordpress, the tool that publishes this blog. Making the jump from 1.5 to 2.2. I never thought that importing data from one Wordpress site to another could be so bloody difficult.
  • Watching Simon drink out of his new kitty fountain.
  • Looking forward to… BarCamp Raleigh/Durham
  • Super stoked to find out my sister is getting married this fall!
  • Waited in line with about 100 other foolz to get an iPhone.  To make this happen, I had to promise Sarah I would be happy for the rest of my life. Unfortunately, I did have to get it replaced already. Two days after turning over my credit card to the AT&T store a rubber strip that seals the optical glass started to come unglued. Awesome. After spending only 1.5 hours with an Apple “Genius” I had a new replacement in hand. So, hat tip Apple. There a million reviews out there, but if you read just one check out Gizmodo’s great, no-BS review (their verdict: hold off for now).
  • Swimming a lot. Playing ping-pong too. Sarah is a pong prodigy.
  • Ready for Carolina Brewery to open their ChathamCounty location.
  • Heading to Blowing Rock this weekend to attend the wedding of our friends Dirk and Tilley.

the backyard is looking great. Nice poetic touch with the William Carlos William red wheelbarrow

“so much depends
upon
a red wheel
barrow…”

Brian Noel… He subscribes to Weekly Standard but can drop verse from radical left-wing poets. How cool is that?
