Fearrington Sheep

  1. Woke up late and walked downstairs… My dad had procured copies of both The Durham Herald Sun and The Raleigh News and Observer from our local Food Lion. After all of us had our fill of death, despair, and hopelessness, (as well as juice, muffins, granola, and coffee), we piled into the Camry for a trip to Fearrington Village. Mom was told by several friends to “go see the cows.”
  2. Toured Galloway Ridge, a “prototype for future housing developments for older Americans.” If this is what distinctive retirement living is all about then I can’t wait to get old.
  3. Walked around Fearrington and stopped in our favorite Triangle bookstore, McIntyre’s. My mom was going to buy Sarah a copy of The Memory Keeper’s Daughter, by Lexington author Kim Edwards. The clerk explained that they were sold out and can’t keep it in stock. This statement created a mini buzz in the bookstore and Penguin should be sending us a free copy of the surprise summer hit due to the interested generated that morning.
  4. Napped
  5. Woke up and got ready for dinner. Consumed one or more of the following beverages: Macaroni Grill red table wine, Sarah’s bomb ass margarita, or Horse Piss Beer.
  6. Squid’s patio for dinner
  7. Maple View Farm for ice cream
