Homeboy
I’m scared that I may be growing up. When I visit Lexington for the holidays I expect to see old friends, go to the same familiar places, and experience a city unchanged from how I remember it. Of course, old friends are now married (some with kids) or have moved away. Familiar places are either gone or nothing like the way I remember them. This is all probably natural and normal. Sarah and I spent several days in Eastern Kentucky and had a wonderful time with her family, relatives, and friends. I got back in town on Friday and she will be here tomorrow. We’re really enjoying spending time with family and friends of course, but I can’t wait to get back to Austin. It is really starting to feel like home.
For a quick chuckle, check out the new Kentucky license plate. Local columnist Cheryl Truman had some nice alternatives to the tag line, “Kentucky - It’s That Friendly”…
